pabercrombieThe conference this year in Chicago was a HUGE success! We had a lot of new attendees from the Midwest this year. We had around 340 attendees in all. Plenary speakers and breakout sessions not only discussed how to provide integrative care for the underserved but directly addressed inequities in health care- from the structural standpoint as well as from the patient and provider standpoints. These discussions are critical in this current political climate! Not only do we have a lot of anti-oppression work to do, we also need to advocate for basic access to health care (reproductive health care for women is of particular concern) and an integrative approach (which includes preventive care, wellness focus, etc.). We have a great deal of work to do and one way to do it is to get involved in IM4US. Many people have been despondent over the presidential election and the actions of Congress, now is the time to take action! We have lots of committees ready to take on issues like policy and diversity (see the link under Support our work). Join us! Membership is affordable for everyone.
Oh, did I mention I am the new president? It’s an honor and I hope you will come join me as an active member of our great organization trying to make a difference in the world.
